The production of the film was to begin throughout the first week of August 2012, though because of actor Riteish Deshmukh's father Vilasrao Deshmukh's critical health condition, the film's commencement was put off by a few days.[10] Says a source close to the project, "Grand Masti, the sequel to Masti has been in the writing process for the last one and a half years. Finally, writers Milap Zaveri & Tushar Hiranandani cracked an idea and scripted the sequel. The film brings back the Riteish Deshmukh-Aftab Shivdasani-Vivek Oberoi trio, along with four new girls. Grand Masti was supposed to kick start this week. Then, Ritesh's father fell ill. He can't be expected to act funny at a time like this."[11]

A suggestion that the film take off without Riteish was also put forward. But producer Ashok Thakeria and director Indra Kumar refused, arguing that a comedy is a happy occasion and therefore all the actors needed to be comfortable. The film then started filming on 9th September 2012 apparently, however unconfirmed. Also, the film was apparently reported to release between 31st July-Late August 2013.[12]

According to the print version of Hindustan Times (dated July 18, 2013), Grand Masti (Masti 2) movie is set to release on 13th September, 2013. The first official theatrical trailer was published on the official YouTube channel on 18th July, 2013. [13]

The film seems to be a remake of Hollywood film American Reunion.

Actor Pradeep Rawat, who played the villain in Ghajini, will be seen in a new avatar of a college principal in upcoming movie Grand Masti.

Known for his villainous roles both in the southern film Industry and Bollywood, Pradeep is best remembered for his iconic evil role in Aamir Khan's Ghajini.

Pradeep is back on screen as the lead antagonist in comedy film Grand Masti, where he plays the principal of a

college. He sports a classy European look with his checked jackets and berets and plays a stern character in the movie.

"Rawat portrays the main negative character in the film. The kind of fear factor needed for this role was wonderfully brought out by him, as he is easily the next Amrish Puri of our era," a source close to the project said.

The film, directed by Indra Kumar, will see the lead actors - Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh and Aftab Shivdasani - playing their part from the 2004 hit film Masti.

Director Indra Kumar had some interesting music in his 2004 hit Masti. But the film's sequel -- called Grand Masti -- has nothing grand in it.

With a suggestive title like that, the music is expected to be unabashed and unpretentious. And it is.

The title song is a fast-paced, addictive club song, which is full of double meanings, thanks to lyricist Kumaar. The film's music composer duo Sanjeev-Darshan also sing this number with debutante Payal Dev.

The song appears again in a remix version, and keeps the temp up. The fact that it is choreographed in a vibrant manner enhances the song.

Manoj Darpan is roped in as a lyricist for Zulmi Zulmi, which features Indra Kumar's favourite composer Anand Raaj Anand.

Surprisingly, the song takes a good one minute before the hook-line arrives and brings rhythm to the proceedings. While the words Roshni Roshni that arrive at the beginning hardly entice, the overall sound of Zulmi Zulmi works only on and off. An attempt is made to create something on the lines of Dil Mein Baji Guitar (Apna Sapna Money Money) but despite the presence of Mika Singh, one doesn't see a long lasting appeal here.

Kumaar returns as a lyricist with Anand Raj Anand's music in Tu Bhi Mood Mein. Wajid Khan (of composer duo Sajid-Wajid) steps in as a singer along with Ritu Pathak for this song, which is designed to step into the same space as On The Roof In The Rain, courtesy lyrics that go as Baarishon Mein Aaja Dil Wet Kar Le.

Designed for the front benchers, this out and out massy number takes one back to the 1980s. Though it is better than Zulmi Zulmi, overall, the song is strictly situational and one doesn't it see it going all the way, unlike Lara Dutta's seductive number from Masti.

Last to arrive is Grand Masti: Mash Up, which works primarily in the parts where title song Grand Masti plays.

Overall, though Grand Masti won't be memorable, it will be decent fun for the time it plays on screen.

The upcoming episode of Comedy Circus ke Mahabali is filled with some Grand humour and masti as Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani make a grand appearance on the show.

always creates. The three Masti stars will share the judges table with Archana Puran Singh and Arbaaz Khan. They will be thoroughly amused by Rakhi Sawant's howlarious act. So impressed were the trio that they will make their way on stage and shake a leg with the item queen. They will be seen dancing on the title track of 'Grand Masti'. Rakhi will also up the comic quotient by imitating a scene from the movie.

Grand Masti was scheduled for a September 13 release but as soon as Karan Johar tweeted that his next film Ungli would release on September 20 and not 6, the producers of Grand Masti decided to release their film on September 6. Now Grand Masti will clash with Zanjeer.
