Gutka is an upcoming Bollywood film which is produced by Karan Johar & Akshay Kumar. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Bipasha Basu in the lead role. The film is written & directed by Punit Malhotra of I Hate Luv Storys fame.the film is expcted to go floors in early 2014.

Nowadays the movie is very famous in media due to its critical name, at first the name of the movie is in controversy because the name “Gutka” symbolize a tobacco product and it was claim on Karan that he will be advertising these kinds of product but now the controversy is over and the name of the movie is same as it will be ”Gutka”.
The releasing date of the movie is yet not confirmed but there are rumors that it will be releasing on Christmas 2014. Well one of the interesting thing about the movie is Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi are working together for first time, both of the actors are very talented and even this year there is a big release of Akshay Kumar’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara, he will be more popular after the release of this movie, even Akshay replace Emraan Hashmi from this movie, we will see later after the release of movie, that which actor will win the heart of audience

A little birdie tells us that Arjun Kapoor has signed his second film with Dharma Productions, titled Gutka. In Gutka, Arjun will play the second lead with Akshay Kumar. Serial-kisser Emraan Hashmi was strongly considered for the role but Arjun ousted him! Gutka will be directed by Puneet Malhotra and it’s a joint venture between Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Akshay’s Hari Om Entertainment.
Arjun Kapoor is already working with Dharma Productions for his film, 2 States, which is slated to release in 2014. The Kapoor lad is not only kicked about sharing screen space with the Khiladi but his happiness has no bounds as he is the only actor who has bagged two back-to-back movies with Karan Johar’s production house. Lucky boy! We hope the two AKs stimulate us with Gutka.

After making his debut with YRF’s "Ishaqzaade" and starring in two more films under the same banner - "Aurangzeb" and "Gunday", Arjun Kapoor has landed his second Dharma Productions' movie - Gutka, the first being "2 States". Arjun will share screen space with lead actor Akshay Kumar in "Gutka", a joint venture between Dharma and Hari Om Entertainment.
A source told: “Arjun impressed everyone with his raw performance in "Ishaqzaade". Though Imran and Ranbir are KJo’s favourites, Arjun is certainly playing catch up. He has already shot a lot of scenes for "2 States" and surpassed his previous performance.”
The source added: “Arjun is kicked about working with Akshay Kumar. His happiness knows no bounds as he is the only actor who has bagged two movies with Dharma in quick succession. He will finalise the portions of "Gunday", which is expected to go on floors this year.”

Punit Malhotra.
“Karan has already met Arjun regarding the movie. He has liked the idea a lot, but since Punit is yet to finalise the final draft of the script, they haven’t been able to take things forward. Both Karan and Punit are keen to have Arjun in their venture,” says an industry insider. Since Punit is currently busy with the Kareena Kapoor-Imran Khan starrer Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, Gutka is likely to go on the floors around mid-2014.
Emraan Hashmi’s name has previously done the rounds for the same role. “But Karan and Punit strongly feel that Arjun fits the part. Akshay is also aware about Arjun being the first choice,” adds the insider. Currently, Arjun is busy shooting for 2 States with Alia Bhatt in Chennai after wrapping up Gunday with Ranveer Singh, another two-hero project.
Despite repeated attempts, Karan and Arjun remained unavailable for a comment. “At the moment, Arjun hasn’t signed any new film. The Okkadu remake that’s being produced by his father, Boney Kapoor, is the latest,” adds the insider.
