Plot Summary: Based on Frank Miller's latest graphic novel "Xerxes" and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster "300," this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. "300: Rise of an Empire" pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemesia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

300: Rise of an Empire is an upcoming 2014 American-Israeli action film directed by Noam Murro. It is a follow-up to the 2007 film 300, taking place before, during, and after the events of that film.[4] The cast includes Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, Callan Mulvey, Hans Matheson, and Jack O'Connell. The cast also includes Lena Headey, Rodrigo Santoro, and David Wenham, reprising their roles from the first film. It is scheduled to be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on March 7, 2014. The composer for the film is Junkie XL.

The film centers on Themistocles and Artemisia I of Caria, as well as Xerxes I of Persia.[8] The Battle of Artemisium was a naval engagement, concurrent with the battle of Thermopylae, and was fought between an alliance of Greek city-states and the Persian Empire in September 480 BC, in the straits between the mainland and the northern tip of the island of Euboea (modern Evvia). The film will probably also focus, in part, on the Battle of Salamis, in which Artemisia played a major role, as well as possibly the Battle of Marathon.[8] The Battle of Salamis (home of the mythical hero Ajax) was fought after the Persian Empire had advanced into southern Greece and occupied Athens.

The film will also cover some of the backstory of Xerxes, and will explain how he became "the God King

In June 2008, producers Gianni Nunnari, Mark Canton and Bernie Goldmann revealed that work had begun on a sequel to 300. Legendary Pictures announced that Frank Miller, who wrote the 1998 comic book limited series on which the film 300 was based, was writing a follow-up graphic novel, and Zack Snyder, co-screenwriter and director of 300,

was interested in directing the adaptation, but instead chose to develop and direct the Superman reboot Man of Steel.Noam Murro has signed as the director, while Snyder is set to produce. The film will be centered on the Greek leader Themistokles, portrayed by Australian actor Sullivan Stapleton.

During pre-production, the film was titled 300: Battle of Artemisium (although this was widely misreported as "Battle of Artemisia the film was retitled 300: Rise of an Empire in September 2012. Filming commenced early July 2012 at the Nu Boyana Film Studios in Sofia, Bulgaria. On May 10, 2013, it was announced the film's release date would be pushed back from August 2, 2013, until March 7, 2014.

Gravity is a 2013 American 3D film co-written, co-produced, co-edited and directed by Alfonso Cuarón. The film stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as surviving astronauts in a damaged space shuttle.

Cuarón wrote the screenplay with his son Jonás and attempted to develop the project at Universal Pictures. After the rights to the project were sold, the project found traction at Warner Bros. instead, and the studio approached multiple actresses before casting Bullock in the female lead role. Robert Downey, Jr. was also involved as the male lead before leaving the project and being replaced by Clooney.

Gravity opened at the 70th Venice International Film Festival in August 2013.Its North American premiere was three days later at the Telluride Film Festival. It is scheduled for wide release in the United States and Canada on October 4, 2013.
In mid-2010, Marion Cotillard tested for the female lead role. By August 2010, Scarlett Johansson and Blake Lively were in the running for the role. In September, Cuarón received approval from Warner Bros. to offer the role without a screen test to Natalie Portman who was being praised for her recently released film Black Swan. Portman passed on the project due to scheduling conflicts, and Warner Bros. then approached Sandra Bullock for the role.In November 2010, Downey left the project to star in How to Talk to Girls, a project in development with Shawn Levy attached to direct. In the following December, with Bullock signed for the co-lead role, George Clooney replaced Downey.
Filming

Gravity has a production budget of $80 million and was filmed digitally. Live elements were shot at Pinewood and Shepperton Studios in the UK with the visual effects supervised by Tim Webber at Framestore in London. The 3D was designed and supervised by Chris Parks. The majority of the 3D was created through stereo rendering the CG at Framestore with the rest post converted, principally at Prime Focus, London with additional conversion work by Framestore. Prime Focus's supervisor was Richard Baker. Filming began in London in May 2011.Although the first trailer has audible explosions in it, Cuarón has confirmed that scenes in space will be silent: "They put in explosions [in the trailer]. As we know, there is no sound in space. In the film, we don't do that."
Music

In the first official trailer from May 9, 2013, "Spiegel im Spiegel" was used, written by Estonian composer Arvo Pärt in 1978.

The film score to Gravity is composed by Steven Price. A soundtrack album will be released digitally on September 17, 2013 and in physical formats on October 1, 2013 by WaterTower Music. On September 5, 2013, a 23 minute preview of the soundtrack was released online.

The project was in development at Universal Pictures for several years, but the studio placed it in turnaround. Warner Bros. acquired the project, which in February 2010, attracted the attention of Angelina Jolie, who had rejected a sequel to Wanted. Later in the month,
she passed on the project, partially because the studio did not want to pay her $20 million fee, which she had received for her latest two movies. She received $19 million for The Tourist and over $20 million for Salt. She also passed on the project because she wanted to work on directing her Bosnian war film, In the Land of Blood and Honey. In March, Robert Downey, Jr. entered talks to be cast in the male lead role.

Reception

Gravity had its world premiere at the 2013 Venice Film Festival on August 28, where it received universal acclaim from critics and audiences, praising the acting, direction, screenplay, cinematography, visual effects, the superb use of 3D, and Steven Price's musical score. As of September 9, Rotten Tomatoes reported that 96% of critics gave the
film positive reviews based on 24 reviews, with an average score of 8.8 out of 10. At Variety, Justin Change posits that the film "restores a sense of wonder, terror and possibility to the bigscreen that should inspire awe among critics and audiences worldwide".

The film was praised by filmmaker James Cameron, who said, "I think it's the best space photography ever done, I think it's the best space film ever done, and it's the movie I've been hungry to see for an awful long time".

Jennifer Davisson Killoran, Michael Shamberg, and Stacey Sher, and written by Brian Koppelman and David Levien. The film stars Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on September 27, 2013

.One can’t but agree with Timberlake’s
observation. Giving more interesting titbits about his character, Justin Timberlake says, ‘I play Richie Furst, a guy who gets caught up in the world of online gambling! He loses all his money and finds out that there is an algorithm that cheats you.’

Rather than revealing the scam to the world on social media (you know how effective it is nowadays), Furst goes to Costa Rica to confront the website’s owner, the suave mastermind Ivan Block (Ben Affleck). Block sees potential in Furst and offers him to join his business, and make hell lot of money.

The only hitch: his entire business is illegal; notwithstanding, Furst is lured into making a quick buck. As the story progresses, he discovers dirtier secrets. Sadly though,
it is too late to back out now. What harrows Furst further is an FBI agent, who nabs him and asks to provide evidence against Block. It’s all about life or death now.

Don’t forget to check out the featurette below and some stills from the film on the pages that follow.
Richie Furst is a Princeton student who is cheated out
of his tuition money by playing online poker.

When he learns that the site is hosted from a remote island location, he goes to confront the site's
corrupt owner, Ivan Block, but is lured into becoming Ivan's protégé and right-hand man.
Their relationship starts to reach a boiling point all while an FBI agent Zbysko, tries to use Richie to bring Ivan down.

Thor: The Dark World is an upcoming American superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Thor, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is intended to be the sequel to 2011'

s Thor and the eighth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Alan Taylor directed the screenplay by Christopher Yost,

Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely,[1] which stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins.

Development of Thor: The Dark World began in April 2011, when producer Kevin Feige announced plans for a sequel to follow the crossover film Marvel's The Avengers. In July 2011, Kenneth Branagh, the director of Thor, withdrew from the project. Brian Kirk and Patty Jenkins were considered to direct the film before Taylor was hired in January 2012.

The supporting cast filled out in August 2012,

with the hiring of Eccleston, Dennings and Akinnuoye-Agbaje. Principal photography began in September 2012 in Surrey, England with filming continuing in Iceland and London, before wrapping up in December 2012.

Thor: The Dark World will be converted to 3D in post-production.

Thor: The Dark World is scheduled to be released on October 30, 2013 in various international markets and on November 8, 2013 in the United States.

    Chris Hemsworth as Thor:

The crown prince of Asgard, based on the Norse mythological deity of the same name.Hemsworth stated that the film addresses unresolved issues regarding Thor's relationships from previous films, "For Thor and Jane, there are some unanswered questions now, since obviously he didn't stop in and catch up with her in The Avengers. Thor might have some explaining to do in this one. And with Loki,

we get down to the major bones of our conflict with everything that's come from Thor to Avengers to now." Hemsworth added, "Thor’s journey I think picks more so up from where we left the first one – About to take on the throne... and now coming to the realization of what responsibility comes with that. Also, Alan [Taylor] keeps talking about the dark side of that responsibility, and the secrets of being king or becoming sort of very political about what people need to know and what they want to know."

    Natalie Portman as Jane Foster:

An astrophysicist and Thor's love interest, who is brought from Earth to Asgard by Thor after she is infected with a mysterious energy.] Producer Kevin Feige said, "[W]hile Thor was a fish out of water on Earth in the first two films (Thor and The Avengers), this time Jane is very much a fish out of water in Asgard."Portman reiterated, "It was a whole different adventure this time. Because Jane is the fish out of water. I didn't want to make it like Bill & Ted, or like a valley girl dumped into Shakespeareland.

    Tom Hiddleston as Loki:

Thor's adoptive brother and nemesis, based on the deity of the same name, who is imprisoned after attempting to subjugate the Earth in The Avengers and forms an uneasy alliance with Thor against the Dark Elves. On where he wishes to take the character in the film, Hiddleston said, "I'd like to take [Loki] to his absolute rock bottom.

I'd like to see him yield, essentially, to his darkest instincts. Then, having hit rock bottom, maybe come back up. I think the fascination for me about playing Loki is that, in the history of the mythology and the comic books and the Scandinavian myths, is he's constantly dancing on this fault line of the dark side and redemption.

Stellan Skarsgård as Dr. Erik Selvig: Foster's mentor and fellow scientist. "Having a god in your head for a while creates some psychological problems," said Skarsgård, referring to his character's ordeal in The Avengers, "and I’m trying to get rid of them. I start this film in a, let’s say, disrupted mode."
    Idris Elba as Heimdall:

The all-seeing, all-hearing Asgardian sentry of the bifröst bridge, based on the mythological deity of the same name. Elba said he has a larger role in the sequel, "In the new film we're going to get to know Heimdall the Asgardian a bit better, and we're going to get to know Asgard a bit better. I can't say too much, but the expansion of Thor in his world is going to be huge. My part was very small and functional in the first film".

Christopher Eccleston as Malekith the Accursed: The ruler of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim.[ Malekith led his people in a war against the Asgardians, but they were thought to have been destroyed thousands of years ago.

Malekith survived, however, and now seeks to transform the universe, plunging it back into eternal darkness. As for Malekith's motive in the Marvel sequel, Eccleston says, “There is a kind of tragic quality to his quest.

Because he’s lost his wife, he’s lost his children. He’s lost everything. And he returns for revenge. And the agent for his revenge is the Aether. If he gets hold of that, he is omnipotent.” Eccleston stated the role required six hours of make-up and 45 minutes in wardrobe

Guns (stylized as 2GUNS) is a 2013 American action comedy film directed by Icelandic director Baltasar Kormákur and starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg. Based on a graphic novel series of the same name published by Boom Studios,
the film was released on August 2, 2013.
Criminals Robert Trench (Denzel Washington) and Michael Stigman (Mark Wahlberg) are arrested by U.S. Customs after a meeting with drug lord Papi Greco (Edward James Olmos) in Mexico. Unbeknownst to Stigman, Trench is an undercover DEA agent and reports to

his superior, Jessup (Robert John Burke), that he failed to acquire cocaine from Greco that they could use as evidence to convict him. Against Jessup's orders, Trench decides to remain undercover and assist Stigman in robbing $3 million from Greco,
so they can prosecute Greco for money laundering. Trench later meets with his lover, Deb Rees (Paula Patton), who is involved with another man as well, while Stigman, an undercover Naval Intelligence Officer, meets with his commanding officer, Harold Quince (James Marsden), who instructs Stigman to kill Trench so the Navy can use the stolen money to fund covert operations.

Trench and Stigman are surprised to find $43 million (rather than $3 million) in the vault. After the heist, Stigman follows orders to betray Trench and escape with the money.
He suspects Trench is a cop and shoots to wound instead of kill. Learning of this,
Quince attempts to have Stigman killed. Stigman escapes after learning the money will be transferred to a Navy base in Corpus Christi. Meanwhile, Earl (Bill Paxton) aggressively interrogates the bank manager about the money Trench and Stigman stole from him.

Trench visits Jessup to tell him what happened, but Earl and his men are there waiting for him. Earl frames Trench for Jessup's murder and lets him go,
making a deal that if Trench returns the $43 million he will be cleared. Trench goes to Stigman's apartment to find out where he took the money,
only to have Stigman contact him from a sniper's post across the street. After escaping a hit squad sent by Quince, Trench and Stigman kidnap Greco and interrogate him in the garage at Deb's house, where they find out Earl, Greco's associate, is a black ops operative, and they have stolen money from the CIA.

The garage is attacked by another hit squad, led by Quince, and the trio ends up being captured by Greco and taken to his farm in Mexico.
After torturing them and receiving a visit from Earl, Greco gives the pair 24 hours to steal the money from the Navy and return it to him, or Deb will die.
There, Stigman is surrounded by Greco's men until both Quince and Earl intervene. Trench arrives in a car filled with money, and then blows up the car, scattering the money everywhere, which leads to a massive shootout. During a standoff among Quince, Earl, Trench,
and Stigman, Earl reveals that the CIA has 19 other secret banks, and the loss of the $43 million is only a minor setback.
Signaling Stigman with a phrase from an earlier conversation, Stigman shoots Earl, and Trench shoots Quince. Trench kills Greco and the duo escapes,
but not before Trench shoots Stigman in the leg as payback for shooting him in the desert. While planning to continue to take down the CIA's secret banks and sabotage their black ops operations, Trench reveals to Stigman that he did not blow up all the money and had some stashed away.

The film is an adaption of the comic series of the same name by Steven Grant.[ However, it has been noted by the Observer that it can also be seen as evocative of the 1973 thriller Charley Varrick. The pictures have similar plots and in both cases the bank being robbed is in Tres Cruces, New Mexico.
Filming took place in New Orleans, Louisiana and areas throughout New Mexico.2 Guns marked the second collaboration for Wahlberg and Kormákur: they first worked together on the film Contraband. It also marks the second collaboration between Washington and Patton after having starred together in Déjà Vu.

Three years after the events of Grown Ups, Lenny Feder has relocated his family back to Connecticut where he and his friends grew up. This time around, the grown ups are the ones learning lessons from their kids on a day notoriously full of surprises, the last day of school. In the beginning, all of them still think that their children are still kids, however throughout the film they begin to accept that their children are growing up.
Like its predecessor, Grown Ups 2 has been heavily panned by critics. The review aggregator website

Rotten Tomatoes reported a 7% approval rating with an average rating of 2.6/10 based on 91 reviews[The consensus states: "While it's certainly the movie event of the year for filmgoers passionate about deer urine humor, Grown Ups 2 will bore, annoy, and disgust audiences of nearly every other persuasion."[14Another review aggregator, Metacritic, which assigned a normalized rating based on 27 reviews from mainstream critics, calculated a score of 19/100, indicating "overwhelming dislike".
John DeFore of The Hollywood Reporter gave the film a negative review, saying "Throughout, gags are cartoonishly broad and afforded so little time for setup and delivery we seem to be watching less a story than a catalog of tossed-out material." Andrew Barker of Variety said that "Among the slackest, laziest, least movie-like movies released by a major studio in the last decade, "Grown Ups 2" is perhaps the closest

Hollywood has yet come to making "Ow! My Balls!" seem like a plausible future project." Mick LaSalle of the San Francisco Chronicle gave the film one out of four stars, saying "The temptation arises to say

something nice about "Grown Ups 2" just because it doesn't cause injury. But no, it's a bad movie, just old-school bad, the kind that's merely lousy and not an occasion for migraines or night sweats."[18] Linda Barnard of the Toronto Star gave the film zero out of four stars, saying "Adam Sandler scrapes the bottom of
the barrel—and then he pukes into it—with Grown Ups 2, a lazily cribbed-together swamp of pointless and unfunny sketches that makes 2010’s Grown Ups look like Citizen Kane."[19] Mark Olsen of the Los Angeles Times gave the film one and a half stars out of five, saying "Grown Ups 2 looks like it was a lot of fun to make. And the last laugh is on us."] Rafer Guzman of Newsday gave the film one out of four stars, saying "For all its warm and fuzzy notions of family and community, Grown Ups 2... has a desperate reliance on

Peter Keough of The Boston Globe gave the film one and a half stars out of four, saying "Apparently the world demanded another family-friendly version of "The Hangover," one that combined scatological comedy with smarmy sentimentality." Claudia Puig of USA Today gave the film one star out of four, saying "Mystifyingly, the movie manages to emerge plot-free.
Instead, it offers a succession of humorless gross-out gags, fat jokes, suggestive posturing, bullying, belches and pratfalls. Life is simple -- and gross -- inandlerville." Sara Stewart of the New York Post gave the film half a star out of four, saying "The movie lurches from one gross-out scene to another, flipping the bird at continuity and logic. It honestly seems as if Sandler and his team descended on a random suburb, halfheartedly improvising and moving on when they

got bored."Stephanie Merry of The Washington Post gave the film one and a half stars out of four, saying "Grown Ups 2 isn’t merely mindless. At times it seems to actually drain IQ points from its viewers while wasting a talented cast of “Saturday Night Live” alums, who are all capable of being much smarter and so much funnier." Richard Roeper gave the film one and a hal
f stars, saying "When Taylor Lautner is the funniest thing in a movie starring Adam Sandler and Chris Rock, we're in trouble."Andy Webster of The New York Times gave the film one out of five stars, saying "This is pap, plain and simple: scattered raunch-lite devoid o

f emotional resonance. At best, it sells itself on the spectacle of a TV show’s cast reunion—and even then it disappoints. With the debacles of “That’s My Boy” and “Jack and Jill,” Mr. Sandler has increasingly squandered his comic capital. His onetime “SNL”
brethren do themselves few favors—beyond a paycheck—by working in his orbit."Randy Cordova of The Arizona Republic gave the film one out of five stars, saying "In its own way, "Grown Ups 2" sets t
