Khiladi is an upcoming Bengali film directed by Ashok Pati and produced by Ashok Dhanuka under the banner of Eskay Movies. Plot

The story of the film revolves around the love story between a Muslim boy (Ankush Hazra) and a Bengali Hindu girl (Nusrat Jahan). In the film, Ankush disguises himself as a Hindu in order to get into Nusrat's family during the occasion of Durga Puja. disguises himself and goes to Nusrat’s house during Durga Puja.

o summarize, Nodi Re Tui is a supposed to be a film on the quite serious subject of Narmada Bachao movement. Yet, it becomes more of a rural-urban love story and disappoints big time. Very not a watch type film, this film will only do well with the single screens.

The actors of the film, much like the trend of the time has been doing rounds of popular TV shows to promote Director Kingshuk De’s Nodi Re Tui. It was a well created hype that the film is based on the real story of Narmada Bachao movement. But the film failed to keep up to the hypes and can be really described as a smart attempt and nothing else. However, the smartness was not in the idea of developing a narrative in lines of Narmada Bachao, on the other hand working on a unconventional love story on screen.

The story begins in Avantipur, where the villagers are living a rather native peaceful life. Until they begin to worry about a certain dam that will be built on their river. It is then that the question of whose river it is arises. Atrayee (Moubani Sorcar), an engineer travels from the city to work on the dam project. It is then that she meets Jubai, the village boatman and brews a love story between them. She then begins to take side of the villagers and thereby supports her love.

Actor Soumitra Chatterjee, as the head of the village is impressive and acts his natural. The other male protagonists are impressive and do not disappoint much. Magician P C Sorcar’s daughter Moubani Sorcar comfortably disappoints. The emotional aspects of the Narmada Andalon does not come out well at all, rather the love story breathes strong.

Proloy (Bengali: প্রলয়; English: Disaster) is a 2013 Indian Bengali crime thriller film directed by Raj Chakraborty, produced by Shree Venkatesh Films and starring Parambrata Chatterjee and Mimi Chakraborty. The film's music is by Indradeep Dasgupta. The film's first song রোশনী এলো "Roshni Elo" was unveiled on the film's official YouTube channel on 1 July 2013

The story revolves around a brave heart Barun Biswas,portrayed by Parambrata Chatterjee, who raises voice against numerous gang rapes in a village called Dukhiya. Dukhiya, where gang rapes had become a festival. These are celebrated by some political criminals. They do not even spare children and aged females. Police also will not take up any complaints against these powerful criminals. Barun Biswas with his team

forms a forum named 'Jagaran Mancha' and stands against all odds and forced the law to arrest the culprits. Eventually, the accused men get Barun Biswas murdered leaving the entire village in shock and pain. Later, Binod Bihari Dutta, portrayed by Paran Bondhopadhyay, coming to Dukhiya in search of the truth behind Barun's murder. Binod comes to know about the goons (who are by now released on bail), and the way they have terrorized the village. Binod tries to motivate villagers the way Barun did.
Cast

Eid weekend is scheduled for big battle in theaters. "Chennai Express", powered by Shahrukh will get stationed at the theaters. "Boss" will rock the Bengali mass and of course "Proloy" is set raise the thunder.

Parambrata is on a steep climb in career since the release of "Kahani". Each movie selected by him is a new challenge where he is able to take his skills to a next level. Raj Chakraborty’s "Pralay" is a serious action drama for which film lovers are eagerly waiting.

The story is about a village, Sutia, where some political criminals indulge into gang-rape of about 30 women. Even the aged females and children fall prey to the ghastly incident. Parambrata plays the character of Barun Biswas who has the guts of raising voice against the criminals. Barun creates an organization, “Jagaran Mancha” who stands against all odds to ensure that the criminals are arrested. Barun not only eradicated the criminals, but also works for settlement of the victims. He works for education, healthcare and for development of the youth. The goons kill Barun when they are out on bail and the entire village suffers a deep trauma. Paran Bandhapadhyay comes to the village to untangle the mystery of death of Barun Biswas and to restore normalcy to the village.

Rudraneil Ghosh, Mimi Chakraborty and Swasata play important roles in the movie. Indrajit Dasgupta has scored the music which is catchy and has already impressed a section of the audience.

This film is produced by Sree Venketesh films and is scheduled for a gala release on 9th of August. This movie moves at a fast pace and promised good entertainment.

Raj Chakrabarty and his team will be present along with 70 villagers at Priya Theater Kolkata for the premier show on Friday. Expectations are high for this movie so is the competition from other movies on this big weekend.

His Kanamachi was ho-hum but with Proloy, director Raj Chakrabarty seems to have kicked up a storm.

Inspired by the true story of BarunBiswas, Proloy is Raj's tribute to the braveheart of Sutia, a village in North 24-Parganas, West Bengal. Though there are elements of fiction in the script, Raj manages to convey the message that come what may, one should firmly stand by what he/she believe in.

We see a dauntless young teacher, BarunBiswas (Parambrata), popularly called Masterda by the villagers. Though a firm believer in non-violence, Barun is upright and doesn't hesitate to protest when there is need. He not only fights on the behalf of rape victims, but also takes steps to secure their future socially. He relentlessly writes letters to the chief minister and the governor, requesting them to look into the problems plaguing the village.

Due to the rise in crime rate, he takes it upon himself to play a vigilante at night. The sound of his bike comes as an assurance and villagers are able to sleep peacefully at night. Barun receives several life threats from the local MLA's mercenaries, but he chooses to ignore them. He, along with his gang of friends, continue with their social work.

Though Raj sticks closer to facts in the first half, he springs a real surprise in the second half. The plot not only becomes more gripping, stellar performances also make it an engaging watch. SaswataChatterjee and ParanBandopadhyay make for a fantastic team, complementing each other at every step, in every scene. Saswata perhaps has the best of lines, and he does full justice to his character as AnimeshDutta, police officer, special branch. The character has several layers to it. Interestingly, the director leaves the audience confused till the end as to whether he's a bad guy or a good soul.

Paran, on the other hand, puts up a brilliant front as BinodBihariDutta, Barun's colleague from school. After Barun's murder, Binod arrives at Dukhiya. Inspired by Barun's philosophies, he too decides to dedicate his life to the welfare of the villagers. Soon, he becomes an active member of the forum, JagaranMancha, once led by Barun. The way Binod starts guiding and motivating Barun's friends, is heart-warming. The scenes where he is hallucinating, having a conversation with Barun, really move you.

Rudranil in a villainous role — as the local MLA's brother, PrashantaMondol — does a good job. You hate him, but you can't ignore him. While Parambrata brings alive Barun's character with natural ease, Mimi, as Durga — an integral part of Barun's gang — looks her part without makeup. The subtle romance, brewing between Durga and Barun, has been handled well.

The best part about the film is the director's sensitive approach in handling the subject. An admirable endeavour, it feels great to see Barun getting justice, at least on screen.

Chupi Chupi (English: Silently) is a 2013 film directed by Abir Bose and produced by Rakesh Shrivastav under the banner of Ma Sarada Chitra Mandir 2012 Production. It features actors Ritojit and Priyanka Haldar in the lead roles. This film is Abir Bose's third film, his last release being long back in 1988 (Kidnap).[1] It released on April 26, 2013

The film is a love story based on the Ghoti-Bangal theme.[2] It is a romantic drama where a couple from Siliguri, namely Gourab and Jini, fall in love and dream of spending their life together. But when it comes to convincing their concerned families, a weird thing happens. Involving Bangal-Ghoti feud, their life becomes unmanageable and miserable. Both the families send off them to Kolkata, but at different places to try to break their relationship. While moving to Kolkata, Jini prepares herself and apparently gets a job at a private concern. After this, the story has its twists.[3]

But a television presenter declared half joking half serious that “there will be no ‘honey nor caramels’ at the event this weekend… because they’re bad for your teeth,” in a clear reference to the likelihood of presenting the controversial rhythm with its direct sexual allusions.
